If you buy only one book on English Grammar this must be the
one! The organisation of the book is so good that you can locate
almost any grammar query you have in seconds....and find the
solution seconds later. For each point there are several correct
examples to illustrate the explanation. Better still there are
also examples of common student errors. Whatever your level of
grammar you will find this book useful. The explanations are
simple enough to be used by English students but detailed enough
for the most demanding English teacher.Any teacher who can survive
without this probably writes grammar books in the evenings! Available

the prganisation of the grammar is slightly different it compliments
the Swan book [see above] perfectly.Of course the examples given
are also different so if you fail to get the point with Swan
you'll almost certainly find enlightenment here! An essential
tool in any EFL teachers armoury and also for advanced students
of English.

Catherine Wrangham
This is a complete course in teaching English as a foreign language
from the National Extension College. Naturally we would prefer
you to do our course but this is an alternative for those who
don't have time to write essays and don't need support from our
experienced tutors! As self-study courses go this one is quite
good.
